Dhaka: Three teenagers drowned in a separate accident at Kaptai in Rangamati on the same day.

They drowned while bathing in the pond and Purbakodala canal of Kazipara Jame Mosque in Raikhali Bazar on Saturday (September 19th).

The deceased were identified as Mizanur Rahman, 12, son of Enamul of Resham Bagan in Chandraghona, Maksuda Akhter, 11, daughter of Mofizur Rahman of East Khantakata area of ​​Raikhali and Hafsa Akhter, 12, daughter of Mahibullah of Jodal Kodala Bazar in Raikhali.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandraghona Police Station Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury said Mizanur Rahman, 12, son of Enamul of Chandraghona Silk Garden, went down to bathe in the pond of Kazipara Jame Mosque in Raikhali Bazar.

He was later rescued by locals and rushed to Chandraghona Christian Mission Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

On the other hand, Maksuda Akhter (11), daughter of Mofizur Rahman of East Khantakata area of ​​Raikhali and Hafsa Akhter (12), daughter of Mahibullah of Jungle Kodala Bazar of Raikhali went missing after taking a bath in Purbakodala canal of Raikhali Union at noon. They were later rescued at 6:30 pm after a 4-hour rescue operation by local divers.

He said Mizanur Rahman, a teenager dipped in the pond of Kazipara Jame Mosque, was working as a child laborer in the secondary shop at the corner of the local Raikhali Bazar. On the other hand, both the children killed in Khantakata area are fourth class students of Raikhali Jumia Rehabilitation Government Primary School.
