Parliamentary Election Three international organizations express willingness to observe 12th National Assembly elections
Dhaka, Nov 9: The Election Commission (EC) said that three international organizations have so far expressed their desire to observe the elections in response to the invitation of the Election Commission on the occasion of the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections.
International monitoring organizations include - European Union (EU), Commonwealth and NDI (National Democratic Institute).
Among these organizations, the Commonwealth has scheduled a meeting with the Election Commission on November 19 for its Pre-Election Assessment Mission. Besides, pre-election evaluation teams from two other organizations have already arrived in Bangladesh and held meetings with the Election Commission.
Meanwhile, Election Commission (EC) Secretariat Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam told reporters today that there is an application period for monitoring the upcoming 12th National Parliament election through the designated cell of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs till November 21.
