Dhaka, January 9, 2022: In order to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the duration of the year of Mujibur Rahman has been extended till March 31.

Due to the epidemic, the deadline for extending the announced program of Mujibvarsha could not be completed.

A notification in this regard has been issued by the Cabinet Division.

In order to celebrate the birth centenary of the great architect of independent Bangladesh, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the government declared the period from March 18, 2020 to March 26, 2021 as Mujib Year.

The duration of the Mujib Year was extended till December 16 last year as the program adopted to celebrate the Mujib Year could not be completed on time due to the Covid-19 global epidemic.

It said, "At this time, tribute ceremonies and folk fairs have been organized at the Father of the Nation's mausoleum in Tungipara, online quiz prizes have been distributed, various publications have been printed, office work of National Implementation Committee has been completed, documents, office equipment, publications have been handed over to government designated authorities." The term of the government has been extended till March 31 and the term of 'National Committee for Celebrating the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman' and 'National Implementation Committee' has been extended till March 31.
