Obaidul Quader Told US ambassador that caretaker govt will never return to this country: Obaidul Quader
Dhaka, March 23: On the invitation of the US Ambassador to Dhaka, Peter Haas, a delegation led by Awami League General Secretary and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader attended the lunch at the envoy's residence. There, both sides discussed about free and fair elections in Bangladesh.
Apart from Obaidul Quader, Awami League presidium member Lieutenant Colonel (retd.) Farooq Khan, International Affairs Secretary Shammi Ahmed, Office Secretary Biplab Barua, Information and Research Secretary Salim Mahmud and Executive Member Mohammad A Arafat were in the delegation.
The US Embassy in Dhaka shared this information in a tweet on Wednesday. It is said that Ambassador Haas met Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader. The ambassador discussed issues ranging from free and fair elections and trade to people-to-people relations and security cooperation in Bangladesh.
Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said in a discussion meeting organized at the TSC auditorium of Dhaka University, "I have told the US ambassador, 'It is not possible to return to caretaker government'. The caretaker government will never return to this country."
