Tony Blair Tony Blair congratulates Sheikh Hasina
Dhaka, Jan 18: Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her re-election as Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
In a congratulatory message, Blair said, "I congratulate you for winning the Awami League for the fourth consecutive time as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh."
Tony Blair, executive chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, said, "This result speaks volumes for your leadership and commitment to driving Bangladesh's remarkable development over the past years."
Bangladesh's success story is multi-faceted, driven by a strong export sector, the rise of a burgeoning middle class and a dynamic young and educated workforce.
He added, "This is the journey of transforming Bangladesh from a low-income to a lower-middle income country, which is proof of your commitment to the welfare of the people."
Tony Blair noted, "As you begin your next term, I am confident that Bangladesh will continue to improve, achieve new milestones and set global standards for good governance."
He further said, "I look forward to the opportunity to support you and your administration in implementing Vision-2041 for the people of Bangladesh."
The former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom concluded by saying, "Once again congratulations on this achievement. I wish you all the success and look forward to meeting you again."
