Dhaka, February 26: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Atiqul Islam has termed non-vaccination as a punishable offense. He said that from now on, those who are going to get a new trade license will have to have a vaccination card. In addition, shopkeepers who do not have a vaccine card will have their license revoked.

He made the remarks while inspecting the mass vaccination program at Soochna Community Center in Mohammadpur on Saturday (February 26).

Mayor Atiqul Islam said the government was providing free vaccinations across the country. People are getting vaccinated with mobile number even if they don't have voter ID card and birth registration. Now if anyone does not get vaccinated, it will be considered a crime.

He said that mass vaccination activities are going on in 486 centers of 54 wards in DNCC area. There are adequate vaccine stocks. The campaign against those who do not get vaccinated today will start from March 1.

10 magistrates will be deployed in 10 regions of DNCC. If a shopkeeper does not have Corona Vaccine Card, the trade license will be revoked. And those who go to get a new trade license, they will not be given a license without a vaccine card.

The mayor said garment workers were being vaccinated, adding that garment workers were one of the working people. Talks have been held with the owners to bring them under the ticker. Today they are vaccinated in a festive atmosphere.
