Dhaka, July 5: The Panchagarh-bound Ekta Express from the capital's Kamalapur railway station left the station with a bogie. The train left the station around 11:30 am on Monday (July 4). The exact time of departure of the train was 10:10 am in the morning.

It is learned that 105 passengers had booked tickets for the 'T' bogie of Ekta Express. Most of their passengers missed the train in this incident. The ‘T’ bogie of the train already had an error so it was canceled and placed at the end of the main train. As a result, many passengers got up without knowing about the cancellation of the bogie.

Authorities say everyone was notified at 9:00 a.m. about the cancellation of the bogie. However, many who have known the subject before, have climbed into another carriage.

The Ekta Express (705) train runs from the capital Kamalapur station to the Bir Muktijoddha Sirajul Islam Railway Station (Panchagarh Railway Station) in Panchagarh. Amela Begum, a passenger in the 'T' bogie of Ekta Express, said she was a little late to reach the station.

"We came and saw the train standing on platform number 7. Later we secured our seats and boarded the train. Suddenly I found out that the Ekta Express train had left our bogie. At that time there were 100 to 150 passengers in the carriage, but we knew nothing about it," she said.

Masud Sarwar, manager of Kamalapur railway station, said, "We made the announcement at 9 am. We have given maximum effort. We didn’t have extra bogies."

"There was an accident in the carriage on the way to the train. We don't know what caused it, it could be due to the weakness of the bogie materials. If any coach is like that from tomorrow, it won't depart without replacement. The tickets of the passengers of the bogie have been taken back."
