Dhaka, July 8: People are leaving the capital ahead of Eid. As a result, a huge crowd of passengers was seen at the bus terminal and train station of the capital. On the other hand, last-minute trade is going on in the capital's sacrificial animal markets. Meanwhile, the capital is slowly becoming silent. The number of people on the busiest roads of the city has decreased. Most of the shops and restaurants along the road are now closed.

The number of transports on the road has also decreased. Those who have gone out for various needs are not getting public transport even after standing on the road for a long time. Although some public transports have been found from time to time, they are now picking up passengers heading to the bus and train stations. There has been reluctance among them to take short-distance passengers.

From morning to afternoon on Friday (July 8), the presence of people on the roads of Farmgate, Khamarbari, Bijoy Sarani, Gulshan, Rampura and New Bazar areas of the capital is comparatively less but not empty. The number of vehicles is also much less than usual. The number of rickshaws, autorickshaws and private transport is high. The number of public transport is also much less than usual. Occasionally a few are seen, but they are not taken if they are not long distance passengers. People have been seen waiting on the road for a long time due to lack of public transport. CNG and rickshaw pullers are taking advantage of this opportunity.

Golam Hossain was waiting for the bus with his family at the new market of the capital at noon. He will go to Kamalapur railway station to catch the Eid train. But after standing for 30 minutes, he did not get the bus. He said he was waiting for the bus to catch the train. I waited for 30 minutes but could not get the bus. This happens every time during Eid.

Md. Nazim was waiting for the bus at Rampura Bridge, will go to Bijoynagar. But the buses are not picking up passengers due to the short distance.

He said he got on two buses of Akash Transport. Hearing about Bijoynagar, they did not allow him to board.

Meanwhile, rickshaw and CNG autorickshaw drivers are in a good mood as the capital is gradually becoming empty. They say many people do not go home during Eid. At that time rickshaws and CNG were the only means of transportation. So they also have a good income during Eid.
