Road Accident Truck-Pick up van collide head-on, kills two
Dhaka, December 31: Two people have been killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup van at Elenga in Tangail. The pickup driver was seriously injured in the incident.
The accident took place in Elenga area of Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge Highway around 12:30 am on Thursday (December 31).
The deceased were identified as Shahidul Islam, 22 and Md. Bayezid, 20.
Elenga Highway police outpost inspector Md. Kamal Hossain confirmed the information.
He said the pickup van was heading towards Bogra with furniture from Dhaka. On reaching Elenga, the pickup collided head-on with a truck coming from the front. Two people, including a pickup helper, were killed on the spot.
The pickup driver was injured in the incident. The injured pickup driver was rescued and admitted to Tangail General Hospital. Police have seized the pickup involved in the accident.
