Dhaka, September 15: Two lower court judges have sent unconditional pardon to the popular actress Pori Moni, who was placed on several remands by them. The two judges are Debabrata Biswas and Atiqul Islam. When asked about the remand, the two judges of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court wrote, "This was an unintentional mistake." On Tuesday they tendered apologies in a written explanation.

Meanwhile, the investigation officer of the case has appeared today on the summons of the High Court. A High Court bench headed by Justice Mostafa Zaman Islam will hear the matter on Wednesday. Judge KM Imrul Kayesh of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court granted bail to Pori Moni on August 31 after a hearing.

On August 29, an appeal was filed in the High Court challenging the remand of the actress in a drug case. The application alleged disobedience of the High Court's verdict in remanding the actress. Advocate Syeda Nasreen filed the petition on behalf of the Law and Arbitration Center.

Earlier, on August 22, the bail application was filed. On that day, the court fixed September 13 for hearing. The next day, Pori Moni's lawyer applied for another 'speedy hearing'. He filed a writ petition in the High Court without getting any response. Besides asking for a rule, bail application was also made for the actress. The High Court bench on August 26 issued the rule without directly giving bail order.
