Road Accident Two killed in Narayanganj road accident
Dhaka, January 15: Two people were killed when a covered van hit them in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj. Police have arrested the driver and his assistant in the incident.
The deceased were identified as Mubarak Hossain, 45, son of Abdul Hashem of Mortuzabad area and Karim Mia, 50, son of Abdur Rahman of Sonab area.
Rupganj Police Station OC Mahmudul Hasan said they were killed on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Saoghat area of the upazila on Thursday afternoon.
He said the two were going to Sawghat on a motorcycle. On the way, the covered van, which was speeding from the opposite direction, collided. Both of them were crushed under the covered van and died on the spot.
He said police arrested the driver and assistant of the covered van after the incident.
