Dhaka, February 3: One to two mild to moderate cold spells may occur in early February. And in the last part of the month there may be thunderstorms with hail and lightning, the Meteorological Department has given this information in its long-term forecast for the month of February.

According to the forecast released on Tuesday (February 2), the country is likely to receive less than normal rainfall this month.

One to two mild to moderate cold spells are expected over the northwestern part of the country in the first half of February. The temperature can drop to 6 to 10 degrees Celsius.

In the first half of this month, there is a possibility of light to moderate fog in the river basins of the country and elsewhere in the morning.

In the last half of February, there may be 1 to 2 days of hail and thunderstorms in some parts of the country.

The country's long-term average daily evaporation in February could be 2.75 to 3.75 millimeters and an average sunlight of 5 to 6 hours, according to this month's long-term agricultural weather forecast.
