Two Neo JMB militants nabbed by police in Dhaka
Dhaka, August 18: Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) have arrested two people affiliated with the FZ Force- a sleeper cell of the Neo JMB militant group- on Monday evening.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Walid Hossain confirmed the development to local Dhaka Tribune news outlet.
The two militants have been identified as Saffat Islam alias Abdullah alias William alias Arsalan alias Mehemed Chagri Begh, 18, and Yasir Arafat alias Shanto, 20.
They were nabbed from the Sadarghat area.
Mobile phones, a sharp object, documents and written action plan of militant activities were recovered from the nabbed duo.
According to police, the duo were tasked with the killing of politicians and wealthy atheists.
They were sent to the court on Tuesday, but not before police filed a case against the duo at the Kotwali police station.
