United States sends another 18 lakh coronavirus vaccines to Bangladesh

Own representative, Dhaka, December 20: The United States has gifted another 17 lakh 80 thousand doses of coronavirus vaccine to Bangladesh. The US Embassy in Dhaka said on Sunday.

US Ambassador to Dhaka Earl Miller said: "Proud to announce US donated another 1.78 million Pfizer vaccines, which are now being administered in all 64 districts. With 18.5 million vaccine doses gifted to date & millions more on the way, we’ll continue to stand with Bangladesh to finish the fight against COVID19."

With this, the amount of vaccine given by the United States stood at one crore 85 lakh doses. Millions more doses are coming.

On November 27, the United States supplied Bangladesh with 17 lakh 90 thousand doses of Pfizer. Earlier, on November 23, the country provided 18 lakh Pfizer vaccine to Bangladesh. At a ministerial level meeting on coronavirus, chaired by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on November 10, it was announced that another 14 million doses of Pfizer vaccine would be given to Bangladesh.
