US delegation did not say anything about caretaker govt: Salman F Rahman

Salman F. Rahman said this to reporters after dinner with the US delegation organized at his home in Gulshan of the capital on Thursday night. When asked by the journalists about what was discussed with the delegation, the Prime Minister's advisor said that there was a discussion on how to make the relations between the two countries closer. Talked about business - how to grow business.

He said, they have repeatedly said one thing about the election - we are not in favor of any party. We just want free and fair elections. They appreciated that there was no problem in the rally of the two parties of Awami League and BNP on Wednesday. He congratulated the role of police in both meetings. They took Wednesday's issue as a model. The police have done a great job and they want the police to do the same in the future.

Have you talked about the caretaker government? When asked such a question by the journalists, the advisor to the Prime Minister said that there was no talk about the caretaker government. They did not raise the matter, neither we did.

The Prime Minister's adviser also said that the delegation led by US Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya did not say anything about the government during the election.

When asked if there was any discussion about the US visa policy, Salman F. Rahman said, "They have repeatedly said the same thing about the visa policy, that we have made the visa policy not targeting any party or any particular person. We thought that your (Bangladesh) election would be better because of this visa policy. They have said this publicly, you have heard."
