Dhaka, August 14: Finally, the reason for the hostile attitude of the United States towards Bangladesh is known. They think that Bangladesh is gradually entering the circle of China. They even consider Bangladesh to be a part of China. The opposition is believed to have given the idea to the United States. While BNP was in power, diplomatic and various cooperative relations were established with China. On the other hand, China has been warning (threatening) Bangladesh about joining the US-led coalition 'Quad'.

After a meeting with two members of the Republican Party at the Rashtriya Guest House Padma in Dhaka on Sunday, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said that Bangladesh is moving to the circle of China.

The foreign minister said, "They said we are going closer to China. We said no. We are not going into China's debt trap either. The loan we have taken from China is one percent of our total debt."

Momen, who has spent a long time working in the United States, said that the issues of Bangladesh's differences with the communist country China were presented to the US legislators in the meeting.

Momen claimed that Congress members have been given the impression that Bangladesh has become a 'slave' of China.

He said, they were told by various people that they (Bangladesh) have fallen into the clutches of China, have become slaves of China. And it's a horrible place, there's unrest here, police arresting people for no reason, people dying on the streets every now and then. Such an idea is given to them.

Various countries and alliances are continuing to adopt the 'Indo-Pacific Strategy', which has been discussed for the past few years, focusing on India and the Pacific Ocean. The United States is calling Bangladesh in the 'anti-China' alliance quad. In view of this, China has again warned that if Bangladesh joins the alliance, the Dhaka-Beijing relationship will be 'damaged'.

The United States created the Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS) with the aim of preventing China's hegemony. After the formation of the Joe Biden government, the strategy of the United States was also changed. Various countries including the European Union (EU), Japan, and others have published their strategies on the path of the Indo-Pacific strategy of the United States.

From the beginning, the United States wanted Bangladesh to participate in its strategic alliance like other regional countries. The country has been calling for it since 2018. Efforts of various countries including the UK, European Union and Japan to pull Bangladesh into the Indo-Pacific strategy have been seen, but the government has not said anything clearly.
