Dhaka, June 15: The first dose of coronavirus vaccination in the country will be resumed from June 19. Those who have previously registered to receive the vaccine will be given the vaccine from China's Sinopharm and Pfizer made in Belgium on a priority basis. Health Minister Zahid Maleque told reporters at the BCPS Auditorium in Mohakhali on Monday.

He said China has donated a total of 1.1 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine to Bangladesh. Of this, they have donated 30,000 doses for their employees working in this country. The remaining 10 lakh 70 thousand dose of vaccine can be given to 5,35,000 people of the country.

In addition, Pfizer's 1,06,000 doses of vaccine came through the global vaccine distribution Covax. Covax will give a total of one crore doses of vaccine to Bangladesh. It said 10,00,800 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca's vaccine will arrive in the country soon.

Meanwhile, the agreement of the Bangladesh government with China on the purchase of one crore doses of vaccine from Sinopharm is in the final stage.
