Dhaka, December 1: December is the beginning of the month of victory achieved through the great Liberation War. The signature of independence gained in exchange for the honor of three million martyrs and two lakh mothers and sisters will be celebrated through various ceremonies this month.

The greatest event in the long political history of Bangladesh was the great Liberation War of 1971. This month marks the fulfillment of years of social, political and economic dreams of the Bengali nation through a historic event of armed freedom struggle under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The greatest achievement of the Bengali nation was the unforgettable glorious final victory of the war of liberation which was achieved on 16 December this month. Bengalis gained recognition all over the world as an independent nation. Acquires its own territory. And its own national flag inlaid with red sun on the green chest. The nationalism that developed on the basis of language, the freedom declared after the victory after a bloody war is fulfilled on this day.

This December is also a month of mourning for the Bengalis as they have fulfilled their thousand year old dreams and achieved this in exchange for many fresh lives and respect of their mothers and sisters. In the same month, the anti-independence forces, in collaboration with their local collaborators Razakar-Al-Badr Al-Shams, carried out a brutal massacre of the country's best children, intellectuals. There is no other instance in the world of such a heinous massacre to make the entire nation incompetent.

From the beginning of December 1971, the news of the defeat of the barbaric Pakistani aggressors in the face of guerrilla attacks by the freedom fighters and a joint force of Indian allies on water, land and air began to spread.

On 16 December this year, Pakistani forces were forced to surrender at the historic Racecourse Maidan (now Suhrawardy Udyan) in Dhaka. On March 7, the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of independence, called for independence, saying, "This time the struggle is for our liberation, this time the struggle is for freedom." The final victory of the bloody war of liberation of 9 months was achieved. And the nation achieves the freedom of a thousand years dream.

On the night of March 25, 1971, the Pakistani executioners launched a surprise armed attack on the unarmed people, killing thousands of people and imposing an unequal war on the unarmed Bengalis. Bangabandhu formally declared independence before being arrested by the Pak army on the night of March 25, 1971 and in response to his call the Bengali nation unitedly jumped into the war of liberation.
