Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 9: General Secretary of Awami League Obaidul Quader has commented that Sheikh Hasina has become the Prime Minister of the country for the fourth time by struggling on the streets.

He said, we are the old players of the streets, BNP is new in this way. Let's face it on the street, make a decision.

He said these after paying tributes to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib on the occasion of his 92nd birth anniversary at Banani Cemetery in the capital on Monday (August 8).

Stating that streets were not leased to anyone, Obaidul Quader said, "Awami League was on the streets and is still on the street. You (BNP) come to the street, there will be a confrontation, there will be a decision. But if you play with fire, the result will be terrible."

At that time, remembering Bangamata Fazilatunnessa Mujib, the Bridges Minister said that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was able to become the father of the nation from Bangabandhu because he had a noblewoman like Fazilatunnessa Mujib as a fellow warrior and fellow passenger. Without a woman of wisdom and patience like her, it would have been difficult for the father of the nation to bring freedom to a nation."

Meanwhile, on the occasion of the day, Awami League organized Korankhani, Milad and Doa Mahfil at Banani Cemetery following the rules of hygiene.

Apart from government programmes, various political and social organizations including Awami League and its affiliated organizations organized tributes, discussion meetings and Milad Mahfil on the day.

Apart from Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar, and various electronic media broadcast special programmes.

President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib.
