Dhaka, May 13: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the Awami League-led government never undertakes any unnecessary mega projects.

She said, "Many people have talked a lot about mega projects. We don't accept unnecessary mega projects. You will see that once the projects are completed, the common people will enjoy the benefits."

Sheikh Hasina said, "What I always emphasize is - which plan will bring the best benefits to the people of the country and the government will be able to earn from it."

She said these things while addressing the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the 60th convention of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) on Saturday (May 13). The event was organized at IEB premises.

Calling engineers as the main force of the country's development, the Prime Minister urged them to maintain the ongoing development process and said, "The development process of Bangladesh should be continued. This is my only request to you (engineers). Inshallah, no one can stop the development journey of Bangladesh."

Pointing out that the current government is working tirelessly for the development of the people, Sheikh Hasina said, "You (engineers) are the main force of the country's development. Bangladesh is moving towards development because of the Awami League government. Everyone will be sincere, so that we can continue this progress of development."

The Chief Minister said, "Our goal is to make the country Smart Bangladesh by 2041. The government will implement Delta Plan-2100, so that no one in the country suffers any more. It will lead to a dignified and better life from generation to generation. Hope you (engineers) ) with this in mind."
