Bengali Language We have got independent sovereign Bangladesh due to the Bengali language
Dhaka, February 20: As the leader of Bengali nationalism, Bangabandhu was the first man to agitate for the establishment of the right to mother tongue. And by leading the language movement, he understood the importance of the independence movement. At the same time, he has established an independent, sovereign state by transforming the Bengali nationalist consciousness into nationalism. So we can say that we got an independent Bangladesh because of the Bengali language.
These were the words of the speakers at the discussion meeting titled 'Our freedom has come along the path of language movement' at Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of the National Press Club on Friday (February 19). The meeting was organized by Bangabandhu Parishad on the occasion of Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day.
The leaders of the council said, "We did not come to this organization out of any lust for power or greed for power. Those who are parasitic, hybrid will take advantage of different governments, it is a matter of government. We Bangabandhu Parishad is a non-political and ideological organization. We promote the ideals of Bangabandhu. Our main objective is to create social awareness by uniting the intellectuals of the country through ideological propaganda. And this is our ideal."
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology Dr Habibur Rahman, Dr Sheikh Abdullah Al Mamun, Rehan Sobhan, Dr Liaquat Hossain Moral and President of Dhaka Journalists Union Quddus Afrad addressed the meeting under the chairmanship of Bir Bikram Mahbub Uddin Ahmed.
