Dhaka, April 8: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thinks that more drastic steps need to be taken in the future to save people from coronavirus. The Prime Minister was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the 71st Basic Training Course for BCS Officers at the Public Administration Training Center here on Thursday (April 8). The Prime Minister joined the function through video conference from Ganobhaban.

"Strict measures will have to be taken in the future to save people. You too will follow the rules of health protection. Encourage everyone. Wear a mask. Steam hot water back home. Gargle," she said.

Addressing the BCS officials, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "We have received the UN recommendation to move to developing countries. We will build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh by 2041. That responsibility will fall on you. You are the main soldier to build a developed Bangladesh in '41."

She said, "We have to remember - we are Bengalis, we have to stand with our dignity. For this, you have to work to ensure the overall development of the people. The people are the owners of the republic, you will serve them with that in mind."

The Prime Minister said, "2020-21 is very important. It is the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence. I took up various programs on this occasion. I could not do much because of Corona. I want to ensure that I will serve the city in the village. Everyone in the field administration is cooperating with me and working for this. I thank everyone for this."

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "We have taken various effective initiatives to build a people-oriented administration. All steps have been taken including awarding fellowship scholarships for higher degrees and training. We attach importance to training to keep pace with new technologies in science. Pioneer in thought and learning."

"We want to bring healthcare to the doorsteps of the people, give importance to education and ensure the overall development of the people," she added.

The Prime Minister said, "It is very sad for me that I could not physically attend the event due to Corona. We have formed Digital Bangladesh, for the benefit of which I am virtually associated with you."

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain handed over the prizes to the first, second and third place winners on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
