New Projects We will come to power again: Planning Minister
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 10 November 2023: Planning Minister MA Mannan said, "I believe we will come back to power. Because we develop, not destroy." A meeting was held at the NEC conference room in the capital, Sherebangla Nagar on Tuesday. The meeting was presided over by Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina.
After the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan and State Minister for Planning Dr. Shamsul Alam held a press conference. The Secretaries of Planning Commission were present.
The Planning Minister said that the government will come back to power by relying on the people. Awami League is not doing any destructive work. So the people of the country will vote for us and we will come back to power.
A total of 37 projects have been approved in the meeting. The total cost of implementing the projects will be Tk 52 thousand 663 crores. Out of this, Tk 21 thousand 557 crore will be available from government funds and Tk 29 thousand 568 crore will be as loans. A total of 46 new and revised projects were presented for approval at the ECNEC meeting. But Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved 37 projects. Secretary of Planning Department Satyajit Karmakar said that the rest of the projects have been asked to be raised in the next ECNEC meeting.
According to ECNEC working papers, a total of 46 new and revised projects, including 44 of the total projects and two in the table, and six extension projects without cost increases were taken up in ECNEC. Besides, 32 projects have been approved by the Planning Minister at different times. which have been notified in several meetings.
