Own Correspondent, Dhaka, June 16: Stating that India has agreed to export wheat to Bangladesh, Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that if anyone from Bangladesh wants to bring wheat personally, they can, but they cannot sell it to third parties.

He said this while responding to a question from reporters after a remembrance meeting for the late former finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith at a hotel in the capital on Wednesday (June 15). Bangladesh Private Medical College Association organized this commemorative meeting.

Regarding Bangladesh's relations with India, the Foreign Minister said that if the two countries are neighbouring there will be problems between them and there will be solutions too. In that case, appropriate steps are taken to prevent any kind of instability or tension.

The foreign minister is scheduled to leave Dhaka on the night of June 18 to attend the JCC meeting in New Delhi on June 19. The 7th JCC meeting will be chaired by Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen on behalf of Dhaka and Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on behalf of New Delhi. It will discuss the overall situation in the two countries.

Regarding his forthcoming visit to India, the Foreign Minister said that the meeting to be held at the level of Foreign Ministers of Bangladesh and India on June 19 will discuss energy security as well as some other issues. The new issue there is energy security. We will talk about how to ensure this.

Mentioning that many unresolved issues will also be discussed in the meeting, he said, "We will have talks about many rivers. There is Feni river, there are Kushiyara. There are anti-dumping duties and border issues on jute."

"I told the Indian Foreign Minister in Assam last month about the meeting of the Joint Rivers Commission. But that did not happen. They are not ready for this. The minister also said that although the JRC meeting was not held before the JCC meeting, the issue of water distribution would be discussed," he added.

On Rohingya repatriation, Abdul Momen said Myanmar has been given a list of 8,30,000 Rohingyas for verification. They have only verified 58,000 Rohingyas. We want to send a group first. But the date has not been fixed yet.
