Dhaka, March 2: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed to ensure funding for buying more vaccines to prevent the coronavirus. She gave the directive at a meeting of the Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Economic Council on Tuesday (March 2nd). Planning Commission Secretary Mohammad Zainul Bari told reporters.

Referring to the directives of the Prime Minister, the Secretary said that the Prime Minister has promised to vaccinate the corona in time. He said more vaccines will be bought if necessary. That is why we have to have financial resources. Besides, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed that agricultural production should not be disrupted and people's food problem should not arise.

Concerned Ministers, State Ministers, Secretaries were present at the NEC Conference Room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, the capital and attended the NEC meeting via video conference from the Secretariat and the Prime Minister's Ganobhaban.

Secretary Mohammad Zainul Bari said the Prime Minister had directed that work be done in the dry season to prevent river erosion.

He further said that the Prime Minister has said that we have to maintain the way we have kept the economy going in the world where the economy is under serious threat during the Coronavirus pandemic. We now need to focus on food production, food supply, human needs, spending money. So that human food is not a problem, agricultural production is not disrupted.

The Secretary also said that the Prime Minister has instructed to complete all the projects in a timely manner and in accordance with the law.
