Dhaka, 26 March 2023 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her determination to build a developed and prosperous Sonar Bangla, free from hunger and poverty, as dreamed by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the Great Independence Day.

On Sunday (March 26) on the occasion of 'Great Independence and National Day', he signed the visitation book after paying respects at the National Memorial.

The Prime Minister wrote in the visit book, on the great Independence and National Day of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, I remember with utmost respect the architect of Bangladesh, the greatest Bengali father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Paying tribute to the brave martyrs who gave their lives in the great liberation war. I pay my respects to the mothers and sisters who were tortured by the invading Pakistani forces.

He wrote, "Remembering with a heavy heart, my mother Begum Fazilatun Necha and my three brothers, sisters-in-law, who were martyred on August 15, 1975 by the merciless bullet of an assassin."

The Prime Minister also wrote, "On this day, I affirm that we will build a prosperous, prosperous Sonar Bengal, free from hunger, poverty, and hunger, insha'Allah, as dreamed by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman." This is my conviction on the great Independence Day.

Earlier, on the occasion of the Great Independence Day at 5:57 in the morning, President Md. Abdul Hamid paid tribute with flowers. Immediately after this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War by laying flowers at the National Memorial.

After paying their respects, the President and the Prime Minister stood there in silence for some time. Meanwhile, the bugle sounded a pitiful tune. After paying their respects, the President and Prime Minister commented and signed the Visitation Book before leaving the memorial premises.
