Dhaka, April 17: Newly elected President Md. Shahabuddin said that he will do whatever he can as a President to hold neutral, participatory and acceptable national elections.

He said this at the official handing over of his book 'Egye Jao Bangladesh' in Gulshan in the capital on Sunday.

Md. Sahabuddin said, "National Parliament election ahead. . . Everyone is saying that the election will be very crucial, but I think it is not crucial."

The newly elected president said that the country has a constitution. No need to worry. He hoped that the Independent Election Commission (EC) would be able to exercise its maximum independence and conduct a neutral, participatory and acceptable national election in the light of the constitution as per the constitution of the country.

The newly elected President said that as a Supreme Commander, I will do whatever it takes to maintain this neutrality, to maintain all the law and order situation.

Expressed his utmost gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for nominating him as the President. He also thanked the Awami League Advisory Board and Executive Committee and all concerned.

On Sunday afternoon, the book was officially handed over to the author of the book, the newly elected President Bir Muktijoddha Md. Sahabuddin, at Gulshan in the capital. While commenting about his book, he said, the book 'Egye Jabe Bangladesh', rich in various factual essays, is spread on the pages of the book from childhood to the whole life; Struggle, politics, liberation war, prison life, work life, family life, ideology and everything.

In this 204-page book, some rare and historical photographs of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman have been added.

The newly elected President said that a broad-based identity of his personal life and contemporary political events, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Bangladesh Liberation War as well as the development activities of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is emerging. Also expressed gratitude to all concerned including future publishers and researchers for publishing the book.

He said, besides, the book includes the homecoming of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the struggle to establish democracy, various steps taken as the head of state, formation of digital Bangladesh, dealing with the corona crisis, construction of Padma bridge and metro rail, implementation of Rooppur nuclear power plant, various development activities including Smart Bangladesh program and state leaders. Seven columns written on the issue of establishing a bright image of Bangladesh in the world.
