Dhaka, Oct 9: Election Commissioner (EC) Rasheda Sultana said it is not the Commission's job to compromise with political parties.

She said, "We are moving forward according to the constitution. Political compromise is not a big deal. We will choose the party that comes. Proceeding accordingly."

She said these in response to a question at the Agargaon election building in the capital on Sunday (October 8).

'Will the political parties call for dialogue?' Journalists asked EC Rasheda about this. In response, she said, "There was no initiative for dialogue. When and how to dialogue, when will be seen. We are working with a place of trust."

Claiming that the government wants a fair election, the election commissioner said, "We have a position, we will hold a fair and impartial election. This is our commitment. Because we have sworn to make good choices. We are very committed to making good choices. It is up to them not to believe it. We have nothing to do here. See how many of the selections we have made so far? Breaking any laws? We are trying to make good choices. We want a good election. I am constantly trying for this. We have no shortage of sincerity."

Rasheda Sultana said that there is no alternative to the government's support for fair elections.

She said that government's support must be taken for fair elections. A fair election is not possible without their (government) support. The government also wants a good election. We believe in it. But it cannot be said whether I can or not. When I can't, I can tell when it happens. What will happen in the future cannot be said. We are trying our best to have a fair election. Our desire and goal is a fair and beautiful election. Voters will come and vote.

If foreign observers do not come, will the election be accepted? In response to such a question, the Election Commissioner said that it is important whether the observer comes or not. If no one sends observers, then there are no observers in our country? Do we not have people? Our biggest observer is our people. We have media, media is also important. We want a fair election.
