Dhaka, Nov 23: Election Commissioner (EC) Md. Alamgir said that no one in the administration will be transferred for unreasonable reasons. He said this in a press conference at his office in the election building on Wednesday (November 22).

Alamgir said, "We will not transfer anyone for unreasonable reasons. But if there is any logical reason, the officer is not impartial, his behavior and work is proved, then we will transfer. For example, we have transferred a Deputy Commissioner of Jamalpur, the schedule was not announced at that time. He spoke on behalf of a political party MP at an event. Then we transferred him."

EC Alamgir said, "Many people say these things from their own thoughts. The interpretation of the law is that according to the RPO, the Commissioner of Police, Divisional Commissioner and all the officers below, they cannot be transferred without the permission of the Election Commission. The government cannot transfer them if it wants. Everyone came under us, where did you get this law? If you can show it then we can answer it."

He also said that if the election commission feels that the behavior of any officer-employee of any department is against fair elections, then the election commission can transfer that department or official. Returning officers who will be elected i.e. presiding officers, polling officers, cannot be transferred outside the district. Who told you that the entire government law and state has come under us? where did you get it The country does not run on talk shows. In the constitution, if the Election Commission wants the help of the executive department, they are obliged to give it. The RPO states that if the Election Commission seeks assistance from any organization or department, they are obliged to provide it.

Regarding the reshuffle, he said, why should we reshuffle? There must be a reasonable cause or specific complaint. If there is an allegation, this official is not impartial or is working for so and so, if there is evidence, then we will take action. Moreover, if so many thousands of officials are transferred, who will take responsibility for the huge chaos that will arise in the administration or in the management of law and order in the country or in the conduct of elections? Now on what grounds we will transfer everyone? There must be a reason.
