He called for domestic discussions in accordance with the hygienic rules, laying of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, prayers in mosques-temples-churches-pagodas and preparations for the month of mourning.

"Bangabandhu's politics involved the masses all his life, so if we help the poor with relief items in August, Bangabandhu's soul will get peace. Leaders and workers of all levels of the party have to stand by the helpless people," Quader said.

"Coronavirus has spread from village to village, many can carry the virus from the city to the village, it can infect people in the village. In this situation, everyone should be aware and avoid the crowd and adhere to the social distancing," the minister added.

The Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said that the traffic congestion has increased in the Tongi-Gazipur section of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway due to construction work.

According to Quader the traffic congestion in the Tongi-Gazipur section will be reduced if the vehicles carrying goods from North Bengal pass through Abdullahpur-Ashulia-Bypail-Chandra.

"There has been a slowdown in traffic due to light rains and slowing down of highways and due to sacrificial animal-carrying vehicles," the minister said.
