Dhaka, November 2: Winter has started in Panchagarh, a border district known as the daughter of the Himalayas. On Monday (November 1) morning, Tentulia recorded the lowest temperature in the country at 15.8 degrees Celsius. Despite the hot weather during the day, the temperature is dropping quickly in the evening. Dew drips overnight and in the morning, the dew glistening on the paddy fields, leaves and grass of the area gives the message of the arrival of winter.

In Panchagarh and surrounding areas, the intensity of winter usually increases from the beginning of November. And at the end of October, the amazement of winter begins. But this time the winter mood started from mid-October. It has been foggy here for several days. With the cold wind of the north giving the sound of winter. Motorcyclists have started wearing warm clothes after dusk to escape the cold. The local people have started preparing for the winter with kantha-blankets and winter clothes.

Meanwhile, even though it is cold at night, it is very hot during the day due to the sun. There is no feeling of winter due to the sun shining all day long. Seasonal diseases have increased due to hot and cold. Especially children and old people are suffering from various diseases including fever, cold, shortness of breath and diarrhea. The number of cold patients has increased in Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital.

Russell Shah, officer-in-charge of the Tentulia Meteorological Center, said the country's lowest temperature had been recorded in Tentulia for two days. The minimum temperature on Sunday was 16 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded at 15.8 degrees Celsius on Monday morning.

Dr. Monowar Hossain, a pediatrician at Adhunik Sadar Hospital, said that outbreaks of seasonal diseases occur at this time of the year due to climate change. This time too the number of cold, cough, shortness of breath and diarrhea patients has increased. Numerous patients are being treated in the outpatient department every day. The number of hospital admissions has also increased.
