Religious Hatred Woman arrested in the Dhaka on charges of spreading religious hatred
Dhaka, November 7: RAB has arrested a 19-year-old girl named Israt Jahan Reilly from Mirpur area of the capital on charges of spreading hatred against religion on social media Facebook and Twitter. On Thursday (November 5) night, a team of RAB-4 arrested her from the Darussalam police station area of Mirpur.
At noon on Friday (November 6), RAB-4 Assistant Director (Ops) Assistant Superintendent of Police Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury said the girl, Israt Jahan Reilly, had long posted religious incitement and hate speech in her own name from seven Facebook IDs, two Facebook pages and Twitter ID.
After her multiple Facebook IDs became inactive, she opened new IDs and spread such hatred.
Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury further said that the arrested Israt Jahan has admitted guilt.
A case is pending against her under the Digital Security Act.
