Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 12: RAB has arrested the mastermind Rezaul Karim in connection with the recovery of the mutilated body of a female doctor named Jannatul Naeem Siddique (27) from a residential hotel in Panthapath of the capital. He was arrested from Chittagong on Thursday (August 11) night.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB's legal and media wing, said that RAB started a shadow investigation after the incident. Later, on the basis of intelligence information, Reza, who is an expedition lover, was arrested in Chittagong.

On Wednesday (August 10) at around 9:30 pm, the police recovered the body of Jannatul Naeem Siddique, a doctor who had just passed MBBS, from the residential hotel named Family Service Apartment in Panthpath. Jannatul passed MBBS and was studying a course in women and gynecology at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital.

After the incident, the police said that Jannatul went to the residential hotel with a person named Rezaul Karim Reza, who introduced themselves as husband and wife. After that, Rezaul, the alleged boyfriend, slit her throat and ran away.

Police say that Jannatul had a love relationship with Reza for a long time. Jannatul's family knew about this. The two met several times before. Reza once proposed marriage to the girl's family. However, the woman doctor's family did not agree to the marriage due to his character problems. However, the two continued to stay in touch.

Jannatul Naeem Siddique's father Shafiqul Alam said, "Jannatul has just passed MBBS from Moghbazar Community Medical College. She was then studying a course in Gynecology at DMK Hospital. Jannatul came out of the house at around 8 am on Wednesday and talked about the class. She said that she will return home around 10 pm. But since she did not return home, I tried to contact him on his phone around 11 o'clock but failed."

Regarding the identity of accused Rezaul Karim Reza, he said that one day he introduced him as a friend. His village home is Cox's Bazar. He was working in a private bank in Gazipur's Joydevpur. I know that women have lost their jobs in the bank scam. I don't know more than that. Reza's identity and address are also mentioned in the copy of the case as unknown.
