Dhaka, August 16: Prime Minister's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy has presented evidence that General Ziaur Rahman was behind the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family on the night of August 15, 1975.

He presented this evidence in a video posted on his verified Facebook page on Monday night. In the description of the video, it is said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the Bengali nation, was challenging the condition of newly independent country, fragile economy, society, foreign communication. But those who did not want to let the country become independent, they certainly will not want to let the country build. The only obstacle in this case was Bangabandhu and his moral sense. That's why the assassins killed him and his family. Not only that, the killers of Bangabandhu were rewarded as an example of implementation of the killings and Bengali counter-nationalism. As if the killers saved the nation. The system at that time was carried to such a level that no one could seek justice for these murders.

According to the video, BNP founder Ziaur Rahman introduced the 'culture of impunity' by enacting the infamous Indemnity Act. By which it was ensured that no one could seek justice for Bangabandhu's murder.

It is said that after the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder of BNP and the first dictator of the country, General Zia, embraced the murderers by giving them jobs in various missions abroad. Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana had nothing to do but shed tears from abroad. But they continued their struggle from outside the country.

The description of the video says that in 1980, Nobel laureate Sean McBride along with three prominent British lawyers formed the first commission of inquiry in the UK to investigate the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his family and four national leaders. But Ziaur Rahman did not allow them to come to Bangladesh, which is a clear evidence of obstructing a fair investigation.

It said that among the killers, Rashid was in Germany, Dalim was in Spain, Noor Chowdhury was in Canada and Rashed Chowdhury was employed as the ambassador of Bangladesh in the United States. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand the involvement of General Ziaur Rahman in the assassination of Bangabandhu.
