'Hiramon' again on BTV after 40 years

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, April 12: 'Hiramon', one of the most popular drama serials which was aired on Bangladesh Television nearly four decades ago, will be aired again on BTV after the Eid-ul-Adha.

Programme Executive (Drama), Mahbuba Ferdous, said, "Hiramon is coming again with new arrangements, it is good news for our viewers. A total of 193 actors are working in the two stories of this drama serial. All in all, work is going on in a big way. It will take time to finish shooting and editing and start the promotion till the Eid-ul-Adha."

Based on folktale and folklore, the show 'Hiramon' became very popular among BTV viewers 40 years ago. Each episode was based on folklore scattered in different parts of the country.

The shooting of two stories, 'Roopban' and 'Dalim Kumar', of 'Hiraman' drama is going on in BTV studio again. It was dramatized by Fazlul Karim, SM Salahuddin, Belal Hossain and Shubhashish Dutta Tanmoy.

Nairuj Sifat, Imtu Ratish, Tutul Chowdhury, Kabir Tutul, Farzana Mihi, Tusti and Tapan Hafeez are starring in the story of 'Roopban'. NK Masuk, Sayem Samad, Saika, Shishir Ahmed, Mir Ahsan, SD Tanmoy, Tasnim Nishad and Shila are starring in the story of 'Dalim Kumar'. The 26-episode programme is being produced by Shahjalal Sardar Shimul.

The state-run media house shared this information to the journalists at an exchange meeting held at the meeting room of BTV's Dhaka Centre on Sunday. The meeting was attended by BTV Dhaka Centre General Manager Nasir Mahmud and Hiramon's crew, including Programme Executive (Drama) Mahbuba Ferdous.
