Dhaka, August 18: CID has sought a five-day fresh remand in the Banani police drug case against actress Pori Moni.
On Wednesday (August 18), the investigating officer in the case applied for a five-day remand. Following the application, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas's court fixed Thursday (August 19) for the remand and bail hearing.
Earlier, on August 16, Pori Moni's lawyer Mojibur Rahman applied for bail. The judge then set a date for the hearing on Wednesday (August 18), but the bail hearing could not be held as remand was sought.
Earlier, on August 13, the court ordered to send Pori Moni and her accomplice Ashraful Islam Dipu to jail in a drug case. She was taken to Kashimpur Women's Central Jail in Gazipur at 7:00 pm that day. She is currently there.
According to jail sources, Pori Moni has been kept in the quarantine center (Rajnigandha Bhavan) of Kashimpur Women's Central Jail. Necessary instructions have been given to the concerned. Since she has not received the division, she will be kept with another common prisoner after the quarantine period.

Various drugs were seized from the actress' house. On August 5, RAB-1 filed a case against Pori Moni and her accomplice under the Narcotics Act at Banani Police Station.
