Amitabh Reza Chowdhury's 'Rickshaw Girl' to release in February
Dhaka, January 16: Amitabh Reza Chowdhury made his debut as a filmmaker with the movie 'Aynabaji'. 'Rickshaw Girl' is going to be the second movie directed by him. Director Amitabh Reza Chowdhury announced plans to release it in February.
The film had a special screening at Dhaka Lit Fest on Saturday night. There Amitabh Reza said, "The Bengali version of the movie is being screened. Hopefully, the movie will be available in theaters next month (February)."
At the end of the screening, Amitabh Reza introduced everyone from the unit to the audience. Later, the director took part in the question and answer session. The session was moderated by Sadia Khalid Riti.
Amitabh Reza said, "The movie is based on Mitali Perkins' novel Rickshaw Girl. But the novel was not about rickshaw paint. I wanted to keep it and kept it."
In 2016, pre-production work began on the film. He said that rickshaw girls are mainly teenagers (age limit 10 years and above).
Amitabh said that he tried to prioritize colour in the movie. That's how its lights and costumes are designed.
