Dhaka, January 14: The court has granted bail to Baul artiste Rita Dewan in a case filed under the Digital Security Act alleging insult to God in Palagan. She surrendered through a lawyer in the court of Bangladesh Cyber ​​Tribunal Judge Assam Jaglul Hossain on Wednesday (January 13th) and applied for bail. Following the hearing, the judge granted her bail application. Tribunal presenter Shamim Al Mamun confirmed the matter.

Earlier, on December 2, 2020, Bangladesh Cyber ​​Tribunal Judge Assam Jaglul Hossain issued an arrest warrant against hem following a report by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

On October 29, the investigating officer of the case, PBI Inspector of Police Mizanur Rahman, submitted the report to the tribunal after finding preliminary evidence about the allegations against the three, including Rita Dewan.

On February 2, in the court of Bangladesh Cyber ​​Tribunal Judge Assam Jaglul Hossain, a member of the Dhaka Bar Association, Advocate Md. Imrul Hasan filed the case under the Digital Security Act. The judge then directed the PBI to investigate the allegations and submit a report.

The case alleges that on January 31, 2020, Rita Dewan saw on Facebook and YouTube that she had made extremely arrogant, obscene and vulgar remarks about Allah Ta'ala while attacking an opponent in a turn. She has voluntarily, consciously, maliciously and loudly behaved in a way that hurts the feelings of others, including the plaintiff, with the intention of hurting religious feelings and destroying religious beliefs.
