Bangabandhu biopic released today; Nusrat Faria as Sheikh Hasina

Entertainment Reporter, Dhaka, 13 October 2023: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's biographical movie 'Mujib: The Birth of a Nation' released today Friday. It is reported that no seats are vacant on the day of release. This will continue for the next three days, because advance tickets are sold out.

Arifin Shuvoo played the role of Bangabandhu in this movie, and Nusrat Faria played the role of Sheikh Hasina. Even the Prime Minister knows about Faria's performance in her role; She also talked to the Prime Minister about this.

On Tuesday, Faria revealed her look as Bangabandhu's eldest daughter Sheikh Hasina on Instagram for the first time. "At her wedding," the actress captioned the new look.

About the experience of playing the role of the prime minister, the actress said, "It has been a wonderful journey since the first offer until now. Everyone has worked so hard to make the film. I am happy to think that it is releasing now."

Nusrat Faria said that she could not believe at first when she got the chance to play the role of Sheikh Hasina.

She said, "After finding out, I felt like the luckiest person in my country. Because no one has ever played his character on screen before. I don't know if anyone will do it in the future or not. I think even if I never act again in the future, It is a great achievement for me to get the chance to act in this role."

Prime Minister herself knows about Nusrat Faria's performance in this role. SHe had a talk with the Prime Minister about this. Meanwhile, Sheikh Hasina asked to remain confident. Bangabandhu's daughter inaugurated the premiere show of the movie at Bangladesh Film Archive in Agargaon, Dhaka on Thursday.

"Mujib: The Birth of a Nation" is being released in 153 theaters across the country on Friday. The movie is directed by Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal. The shooting of this biopic, made at the joint cost- 60 percent from Bangladesh and 40 percent of India- started in Mumbai Film City, India on January 22, 2021. It ended on December 18 of the same year in Bangladesh.

Apart from Arifin Shuvoo and Nusrat Faria, the movie also features Nusrat Imroz Tisha in the role of Fazilatunnessa Mujib and Riyaz Ahmed in the role of Tajuddin Ahmed. Dilara Zaman, Chanchal Chowdhury, Siam Ahmed, Zayed Khan, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Ferdous Ahmed, Dighi, Raisul Islam Asad, Gazi Rakayet, Tauqeer Ahmed and Misha Saudagar have played other roles.

'Mujib: The Birth of a Nation' is slated to release in India on October 27.
