Bangladeshi actor, lyricist, singer nominated in West Bengal Filmfare

Entertainment Desk, Dhaka, March 15: The Bengali Filmfare authorities of West Bengal on Monday announced the names of Bengali cinema and artists nominated for the 2021 awards. There are names of three Bangladeshis in the list. They are actor Mosharraf Karim, lyricist Asif Iqbal and singer Mahtim Shakib.

They have been nominated in three categories for their impeccable work.

Among them, Mosharraf Karim has been nominated in the Best Actor (Critic) category. He has got a place in the list due to his performance in the movie 'Dictionary' directed by Bratya Basu. Along with him, Arjun Chakraborty, Anirban Bhattacharya (two), Ritwik Chakraborty, Shaswat Chatterjee and Soumitra Chatterjee have also been nominated.

Lyricist Asif Iqbal has been nominated in the category of best lyricist. He has been chosen for his song titled 'Mayar Kangal Ami' from the movie 'Alpo Haleo Satyi'. Ishan has given voice in the song to the tune of Amit-Ishan. The singer has also been nominated for the same song. Along with Asif Iqbal, Srijat, Anupam, Nilanjan Chakraborty, Saki Banerjee and Shivbrat Biswas have also been nominated for Best Lyricist award.

On the other hand, popular young singer Mahtim Shakib has been nominated as the best singer. He has joined the race for the award with the popular artists of Kolkata by singing the popular song 'Take Olpo Kache Dakchi' from the movie 'Prem Tem'. His opponents are Anirban Bhattacharya, Anindya Chatterjee (two), Anupam Roy, Ishan Mitra and Shovon Ganguly.

It is learned that the Filmfare Bangla Award will be announced on March 17. Mosharraf Karim has already left for Kolkata to take part there. Invitation letters have also reached Asif Iqbal and Mahtim Shakib. They have also expressed their desire to join the event.
