Copyright infringement: Singer James approaches court to sue Banglalink

Dhaka, September 20: Nagar Baul James approached a lower court of Dhaka to file a case against a mobile operator company for copyright infringement of a song. However, on the advice of the court, he returned without filing a case.

He filed the case in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayesh on Sunday (September 19) morning. At that time, the judge advised him to go to the police station (Gulshan police station) and file a case. He left the court premises at around 1 pm on the advice of the judge.

Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court Tapash Kumar Pal said James had come to the court to file a case against Banglalink under the Copyright Act. The judge asked him to go to the Gulshan police station and file a case there. Besides, if the police station refuses to take the complaint, the judge asked him to approach the court.

Nagar Baul James's lawyer said that he came to file a case against Banglalink under the Copyright Act. On the advice of the court, he returned without filing a case.
