Wealth Elections: Actor Ferdous has less wealth than his wife
Entertainment Reporter, Dhaka, 9 December 2023: The Election Commission (EC) has declared the nomination papers of Awami League party candidate actor Ferdous Ahmed valid for the Dhaka-10 parliamentary seat in the upcoming 12th National Parliament election. As a result, he confirmed his name on the ballot in the upcoming 12th National Parliament election.
On the other hand, the analysis of his affidavit filed with the nomination papers in the District Returning Officer's office showed that Ferdous, a popular face of the film industry, is far behind in wealth compared to his wife. The Vice President of Bangladesh Pilots Association and Biman Bangladesh Airlines Captain Tanya Reza is Ferdous' wife. She is the captain of Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
According to the affidavit, Ferdous's annual income from business is Tk 47 lakh 99 thousand. Share market, savings paper, bank deposit 2 lakh 47 thousand taka. Although slightly behind in this regard, Tanya's income from work is 1 crore 57 lakh taka. Ferdous lags behind in cash. Although he has 31 lakh 28 thousand in cash, his wife has 42 lakh 58 thousand. Ferdous is far behind in terms of private cars. He rides in a car worth Tk 20 lakh and the car used by his wife costs Tk 1 crore 85 lakh 13 thousand.
Ferdous resides in holding No. 15, Road No. 3, Old Banani DOHS. He owns two flats on the fifth floor of the building. The price of two flats is 2 crore 90 lakhs. He has another flat (No. 101) in Rajuk's Uttara Apartment Project. However, he did not mention any price for it.
Ferdous owns 20% floor of a three-storey house built on 4.65% land in Kotwali Thana area inherited from his mother. He also owns a plot of five khata area on Road No. 301 in Sector No. 7 of Purbachal. Besides, he has two plots in Kalapara of Patuakhali. The volume of one is 26 and the other is 33 percent. There are two flats with car-parking in the capital's Dhamal Court, which he inherited from his mother.
Besides, Ferdous has another plot of 16 and a half percent in Baunia of Mirpur. He has two more plots of seven katha area at Ashulia in Savar. The wife has 40 gold. 20 of his own. There is a Rolex watch, which is given as a gift. There is an investment of about 11 lakh taka in film business called Nujhat Films. The price of the furniture is unknown.
