Entertainment Reporter, Dhaka, 29 March 2024: The feature film 'Moyna' directed by Manjurul Islam Megh and produced by Jazz Multimedia CEO Md Alim Ullah Khokon has been nominated at the 21st Aporia International Village Film Festival in South Korea. The organizers confirmed the matter to the film's director Manjurul Islam Megh in an e-mail message on March 26.

Megh said that this festival will be held for 15 days from August 8 to 24. The festival has received global status as the Olympics of world cinema for the past 21 years.

He said, "Aporia International Village Film Festival is a dream festival for filmmakers. Big directors from all over the world wait to participate in this festival. The festival authority only nominates 1 film from a country. As far as I know, Maina from Bangladesh got the first selection. "

Manjurul also said that 20 directors from 20 countries have been finalized to participate in this festival.

Earlier, Maina won the Best Film Production Award at the 25th EMMAS BBC Festival of Multicultural 2023 in London. Received special awards as a semi-finalist at Coliseum International Film Festival 2023 in Italy and Golden Jury Film Festival 2023 in Mumbai, India. Apart from this, Maina has received official selection in several international film festivals in Europe, America and Africa.

Md Alim Ullah Khokon, producer of Maina movie said, "Maina is a real story movie. As a producer I am satisfied with the director's movie. The film is being discussed at home and abroad, it makes me happy. My intention was to make a good quality movie."

Actress Raj Ripa played the title role in the movie Maina. Apart from this, actors Kayes Arju, Aman Reza, Affan Mitul, Jilani, Shishir, Momena Chowdhury, Nader Chowdhury, Subrata, Suchna, Khalilur Rahman Qadri, Anwar, Shimanda, Zara, Tahmina Mona, Apan in a special role, child artist Jannatul Bhor acted.
