Dhaka, March 13: A road accident in Chittagong killed musicians Hanif and Partha Guha.

Hanif's elder brother Manik and musician Imran said the accident took place in Mirsarai area of Chittagong on Saturday (March 13th) around 5am on his way to Cox's Bazar to take part in a stage show. In the Mirsarai area, a truck coming from the opposite direction crashed with their microbus. At this time the vehicle fell. Hanif Ahmed, Partha Guha, Beauty Khan and others in the microbus were seriously injured.

Partha lost his life on the spot. Hanif Ahmed was also pronounced dead by the on-duty doctors when others were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

Besides, vocalist Beauty Khan, musician Nandan, Rahat, Pappu and Tauhid were critically injured and are undergoing treatment at the hospital. However, the condition of Beauty Khan is quite complicated, said the doctors on duty.

It is learned that Hanif Ahmed left the Meghna Bridge at around 3pm on Friday (March 12) after finishing a stage show in Chandpur to join another microbus waiting with other artists-musicians, including Partha from Dhaka. From there they left for Cox's Bazar.

Hanif Ahmed and Partha Guha are both among the busiest stage musicians in the country. Has been sharing the stage with most of the artists of the country for two decades. Hanif Ahmed's last show was on Friday (March 12) night with Kona, in Chandpur. Imran also sang with other musicians on the same stage.

Imran said, ‘I and Kana Apu were on the same show. Although we have not met in time. However, Hanif Bhai was in the setup of Kana Apur. It is learned that on the way back to Dhaka at night, Hanif Bhai got down near Meghna Bridge and left for Cox's Bazar with Partha Da. It's not really acceptable. I can't even imagine such a man gone so soon. It's a big loss for our music industry."

There is a shadow of mourning in the music industry after losing two favorite musicians. Surprise, frustration and anger have been circulating on Facebook since Saturday morning.

"We were together just a few hours ago," Kona said. "I did a show in Chandpur. After I came back home, I heard that Hanif Bhai is no more! Hanif Bhai was also saying yesterday, that he had an important issue to discuss with me. Now, I'll never get to hear that."
