Bangladeshi Cinema Nipun wants to bring back the heyday of cinema with Mahmud Koli
Entertainment Reporter, Dhaka, 20 March 2024: Mahmud Koli, a popular actor of Dhaka cinema. He has captivated the audience on the silver screen for a long time. Served as President and General Secretary of Bangladesh Film Artists Association for two terms. This time again he has been elected as the president of Nipun Akter's panel in the election of Bangladesh Film Artists Association.
In this regard, Nipun said in a press conference on Sunday evening, "Many people did not think that Mahmud Koli would come to the post of president. I wanted experienced people in this place. Those who have led the artist association before should come here. Mahmud Koli Bhai is very experienced in that respect. He has served twice as president, twice as general secretary. It will be very easy for him to work from this place. We artists are happy to have him. Everyone talks about the golden past of cinema now. We want to bring back that golden past with Mahmud Koli Bhai."
President candidate Mahmud Koli said, "I once worked here with everyone. I will not do movies anymore, I come here to work only for the artists. I want to work for the welfare of the artists. Please stay by my side, stay with me, elect me. For artistes, great things await for cinema."
Mahmud Koli's first film is 'Mastan'. He was a co-star in the film. Then in 1978, he acted as the main hero in the film 'Toofan' produced by Ashok Ghosh. Mahmud Koli has given many movies to the audience including 'Love in Singapore', 'Golmaal', 'Nepali Meye', 'Soshurbari', 'Superstar', 'Greftaar'.
