Entertainment Reporter, Dhaka, January 27, 2024: Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, the acclaimed Rabindra Sangeet artiste of two Bengals, has been conferred with India's 'Padma Shri' award. On the occasion of the Republic Day of India, the names of the honored dignitaries were announced in New Delhi on 25th January. It is reported that 132 people have been honored this year in three categories of Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The award will be officially handed over to the awardees at the Rashtrapati Bhavan of India.

Apart from Rabindra Sangeet, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya was educated in Dhrupadi, Tappa and Kirtan music. She got admission in 'Chayanat' and later in Visva Bharati University in India. This musician is very popular in Bangladesh as well as in other parts of Bengal.

Rezwana Choudhury Bannya has drawn inspiration from musicians like Rabindra Sangeet legend Shantidev Ghosh, Kanika Bandyopadhyay, Neelima Sen and Ashish Bandyopadhyay. This artiste is running a music education institute named 'Surer Dhara'.

Several albums of Rezwana Choudhury Bannya have been published. The album includes - 'Bhorer Aakashe', 'Laguk Hawa', 'Apan Pane Chahi', 'Pran Khola Gan', 'Swapner Abeshe', 'Sakal Sanjhe', 'Elam Notun Deshe', 'More Dardiya', ' Shravan Tumi', 'Matir Dak', 'Chinnapatra' and 'Genthechinu Anjali'.

She received the Freedom Medal in 2016 for her special contribution to music. Apart from this, he received many awards and honors including Feroza Begum Memorial Gold Medal, Citycell-Channel i Music Award, Anand Sangeet Award. He has also received India's 'Bangabhushan' award earlier.
