Singer Nobel remanded in fraud case

Dhaka, May 20: The court has placed musician Mainul Ahsan Noble on a day's remand in the case of embezzlement of Tk 1 lakh 72 thousand by cheating instead of singing at a cultural event.

He was produced in court on Saturday (May 20). After that, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) applied for a three-day remand for proper investigation of the case. On the other hand, his lawyer applied for bail. After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ahmed Humayun Kabir granted remand.

Earlier on Saturday morning, singer Noble was brought to the DB office. He was recently questioned about several allegations against him. After the interrogation, he was arrested in this case.

On May 16, the representative of SSC batch 2016 of Shariatpur Vedarganj Headquarters Pilot High School Md. Safayet Islam filed the case as plaintiff. On May 17, the court accepted the statement of the case and ordered to submit the report on July 9.

It is said in the statement that the first reunion of the SSC batch 2016 of Vedarganj Headquarters Pilot High School of Shariatpur was organized on April 28. One lakh 75 thousand taka was fixed with Mainul Ahsan Noble for singing in cultural programs. Later, Noble was given a total of 1 lakh 72 thousand taka in various bank accounts. However, he cheated and embezzled this money without going to the event.
