Veteran actor Kayes Chowdhury dies

Dhaka, October 22: Renowned actor, producer and playwright Kayes Chowdhury has died at his home in Dhaka.

The thespian breathed his last around 7:30 pm, shortly after returning home from a city hospital on Thursday in Lalmatia, according to reports.

Prothom Alo quoted Actors Equity Bangladesh secretary general Ahsan Habib Nasim as saying, "Kayes Chowdhury went there for regular kidney dialysis and passed away after returning home."

The outlet reported that the Kayes' namaz-e-janaza will be held on Friday at Taqwa Masjid in Dhanmondi after Jumma prayers, quoting his nephew Salehin Chowdhury.

Chowdhury wrote and directed BTV's popular tele-fiction "Na", which featured Tania Ahmed, Tony Dias and Shomu Chowdhury among others.

He also directed successful tele-fictions "Sopno Ebong Tumi" and "Tritiyo Noyon."
