Pori Moni Rape Case Where can I speak if not in court, asks Pori Moni
Dhaka, April 20: "Three people in Dhaka Boat Club, including Nasir Uddin Mahmud and Tuhin Siddiqui Omi, have a lot of power. They don't need a room to rape anyone there. When they call, the lights go out. They can jump on any girl there like a playground," actress Pori Moni said on Tuesday.
A charge sheet hearing was held on Tuesday (April 19) against three people, including businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud and Tuhin Siddiqui Omi, in a case alleging rape and attempted murder of Pori Moni. Excited at the hearing, the actress said these things in the court.
Pari Moni said in an excited voice, "They forcibly took me to the Boat Club at 12 o'clock at night. I went there in shorts. There are no rules for getting in with shorts. But they used their power to let me enter."
The lawyers told her to stop after the hearing lasted for about an hour. At that moment, Pori Moni said, "If I can't speak here, where can I speak?"
Earlier, at 9:53 am, the plaintiff in the case appeared in the court No. 9 of Dhaka Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal. A charge sheet hearing was held in her presence.
On the other hand, three accused including Nasir appeared in the court. At that time, their lawyer applied for release. Pori Moni's lawyer held a hearing to form the complaint. Following the hearing of both the parties, the judge fixed May 18 for the order.
Earlier, on March 3, Judge Hemayet Uddin of Dhaka's Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-9 set the date for the formation of charges.
Judge Hemayet Uddin of Dhaka's Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-9 accepted the chargesheet on December 13 last year.
On September 6, 2021, the investigating officer of the case, Kamal Hossain, filed a chargesheet against Nasir and three others in the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court.
On June 14 of that year, Pori Moni named Nasir Uddin and his friend Omi on charges of attempted rape and murder and filed a case against four persons at Savar Police Station in Dhaka. After that the police started working on the matter.
