Young director duo Roman Kabir and Zahid Majumder to make film on Bangabandhu

Dhaka, June 25: Young film makers Roman Kabir and Zahid Majumder are making a movie 'Madhumatir Tire' based on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's childhood.

The film is being produced by the Bangladesh Film and Television Institute with funding from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary. J Films is in overall management of the film.

The two producers said that the setting of the film has been made with some stories from the beginning of the political life of the father of the nation, adolescence, inspired by 'Bangabandhu's unfinished autobiography'.

Earlier, they made several short films with the funding of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Among the short films made by Roman Kabir are Babuler Mess: Swopno Rongin, Tukro Golpo, Jugol Swopno, Nirar Kobita and Nirar Ekdin.

Zahid Majumder has made Refugee 71, Dhoyasa, Burigangar Majhi, Sareng Kotha.

The directors said the film would portray Sheikh Mujib's early life through his courage, leadership, humanity, ideals, benevolence, social and political awareness.

The pre-production work of the film is in the final stages, the makers said. They have said that the movie will be shot soon.

The directors have post-graduate degrees in film from the Bangladesh Film and Television Institute.
